What is Sandestin?

Sandestin is a 2400 acre development at Miramar Beach, Florida. This development was started in the 1980's and virutally built out development with four (4) golf courses, Tennis and Convention Center, Marina, Beaches, fitness centers, shopping and restaurants. This is a place where you can come and never have to leave during your stay.

Where is Villa Lago in Sandestin

Villa Lago is a new development within Sandestin. It is a short walk, bike ride or golf cart ride from the Villages of Baytowne Wharf, the marina, tennis courts, pools and the beach. Our house is located on the east side of the development looking down the lake between the 2nd green, 3rd hole and the 4th fairway of the Baytowne Golf Course.

What does the upstairs look like?

The great part about the upstairs is that each of the bedrooms has their own bathrooms which have travetine tile through them. There are three bedrooms with the middle one have a double down and single up bed and a chair which converts into a twin bed. The washer and dryer are on the second floor in an closet on the main hallway for easy access and use by all the guests. The linen closet is at the top of the steps adjacent to the washer and dryer. The master bathroom has a jacuzzi tub and large walkin shower along with twin vanities for the guest using this room. All the bedrooms have nice large walkin closets. There is a great balcony off the Master Bedroom which afffords a great view of the lake and the golf course at Sandestin. It is a great place to have a cup of coffee and relax in the morning or afternoon while listening to music on the stereo system of the house.

The pictures here show the front bedroom with the mirror and platation shutters to block the light. It has a 26" flat screen TV with built in DVD player. The middle bedroom has the bunk bed in it. It also has a 26" flat screen TV with built in DVD player. The Master bedroom has a 36" flat screen TV and DVD planyer along with a great view of the lake and the golf course to start the day.

What does the Downstairs look like?

The downstairs of this 1860 square foot house has a golf cart sized garage to store bicycles lawn chairs and other beach and outside equipment out of the elements. The entrance into the house takes through a foyer which has a half bath in it and working desk, chair and lamp for those who need to stay in touch with the office or friends while traveling. With wireless internet in the house the guests have a great place to be able to work and be out of the flow of traffice. The foyer leads into a great room which has on open kitchen and a living room area with a 50" HD TV with a surround system and an Ipod Dock for those who want to have music playing through out the house on the four sets of speakers which are in the living room with the TV and the back patio downstairs and in the Master Bedroom and the upstairs balcony off the Master bedroom. The Opening of the The Retreat-January, 2009

In January of 2009 the owners of the Retreat at Villa Lago,Harold
and Linda Simpson and Claudia and John Gifford (on the right) went down to Sandestin to finalize the move in to their house.They were fortunate to have with them that weekend their close friends, Rick and Dianna Naylor, to assist and support them in this memorable moment. On the right is a picture of Linda and Dianna on the back patio. This was a great weekend of fun and work as they hung the blinds and the final items to make the house ready for Guests. As they finalized the move they took these pictures to commemorate the Retreat at this moment in its history.

The front of the house is the picture on the right below. Next to it is a picture of the rear of the house from across the lake. This lake is directly behind the house. It is the lake located between the 2nd, 3rd and 4th holes of the Baytown Golf Course at Sandestin. The one the rearview of the proeprt is shot from the side of the house looking across the lake at dusk.

The Retreat at Villa Lago
